Motivation: Blogging

What motivates me?

It’s a pretty loaded question that could be answered in so many ways.

In all actions there is not only a reaction, but also motivation.

Everything I do is motivated by something.

I get up in the morning to get my girls ready for school and to take them to the school. Before they were born it was to go to work. I clean the house because I don’t want to live in a germ-infested house. I bake because I enjoy the process and the promise of a sweet reward. I blog because I want to share my baking experiences!

These are the things I do without thinking about, but everything is motivated by something. My girls, my germ phobia, my love of baked goods, and my love of sharing all motivate me to do the things I do.

There are things I don’t do that I probably should.

Like getting more exercise, learning WordPress, practice driving a manual car, replying to emails on time, and so on… These are areas where I could do with a bit more motivation. It’s finding the motivation to make these things part of my everyday life.

If I want to be a Ninja master then I have to start lessons, if I want to learn WordPress then I need to start reading up on it and learning how it works, if I want to learn to drive a manual car then I need to start practicing!

I can see what should be motivating me to do these things, but at the end of the day I have to want to do it.

And that is what motivation is: a want to do something. If you want something bad enough you will find a way to do it.
